BBC Essex have recently announced Lawrence Walker as one of the finalists in the Together category of the BBC Essex make a difference Award 2023.
 
The recipient of the Together Award is an individual or group who have brought people from diverse backgrounds together to achieve a positive impact and common goals.
 
Lawrence Walker who was the Chairman of Black history month was vocal in advocating for equal rights and educating the masses in various groups of struggles and ways to cope in the diverse environment.
 
Lawrence Walker was a Legend in the community especially with the kids giving up so much of his time and expense to ensure the young lads enjoyed themselves. 
 
The BBC Essex Award winner will be revealed on September 21st from the group of four finalists.
